Firstly I would check/clean that big multi plug on the right handside on top of the engine. This plug gives problems and probably disturbed during timing belt change, then sell it!

Car starts great, warms up then misfires and stalls out. Installed new water pump, timing. This question has been answered but the detail below still pertains to this same issue.

Hi, if you have been talking to somebody, if you reply on the comment link, they will know your asking another question. As far as firing order, whatever cylinder would have to be on compression stroke.

I've got a 2003 jetta 2.0 made in april of 2002 throwing a po343, I replaced the cam sensor, timing belt, it ran great for about 10 miles then the ignition pack went out(miss-fire cyl 1). I replaced...

If your car is off a single tooth on the Timing Belt, you will have continued problems... you need to verify the timing is on. If the timing is off, reset it and then proceed if the problem returns

I did have a problem with a defective Cam Shaft Sensor and replacing it with another Defective Sensor....

Motor is miss firing p3o3 changer ecu after few mins mis fires is my crank position sensor not reading the third cylinder for some reason i did a motor swap ran new motor 3 or 4 hours had miss shift...

your crank position sensor does not read individual cylinders, only the position of the crank shaft. make sure the plugs and wires are good, check the spark coming from the coil, make sure there are no vacuum leaks at intake manifold, check timing, then do a leak down test to make sure you don't have a bent or damaged valve in the cylinder head.

My 1994 tracer won't start

Hi there,

Have a few questions.
You said you had fire. Is this true on all cylinders?

Is there any backfiring?

Pull the distributor cap and have someone crank it for you.
Is the rotor spinning?

Pull the plug on cylinder 1. Stuff a rag in the hole. Crank slowly until the rag pops out. The engine should be on or very close to Top Dead Center.
Which plug wire is the rotor facing (distibutor)?

I have my suspicions.
Get back to me with the results to confirm and proceed.
Mike
