Hi..when im going the car just loosing power.when u put ur foot down it looses all his power, just dies out then gets all the power back, its like its not geting petrol orv not geting spark propely, cud it be the petrol filter???it woudent rev the other day,if i put my foot on exelreater it bogs down, Hi, I too am having a similar problem with my 98 316i. Whist driving for the past two weeks the car has been a little slugish accelerating. A few days ago the car just lost all power and I was not able to restart it. Could this be the same problem? And what should I do?
Check the induction kit, where the big black rubber hoses pipes connect to air filter box and inlet fuel manifold ?? i cant remmber wat is called (sorry),if is spilt that the reason u will lose the power ,if u dont find anything spilt ,is could be possile spark plugs lead need replacing

I am having a similar problem with my 93 316i. engine wont rev above 3500. i was quite sure it was a clogged fuel filter but changed it today and probem is still there. could it be that some dirt has gone on to choke the injectors or the fuel regulator at injector manifold? it could be the airflow gate or MAF sensor malfunctioning.will check it today. quite sure it is not jumped timing as the engine is quite good below 3500.

This could possibly be a problem with your air flow meter (MAF sensor) these vehicle have a vane type air flow meter which can cause lots of problems. You can check it with a multimeter (sorry not sure which pins to probe) or send to your local auto electrician for testing. Cheers tyron
