It depends on what you need overhauled and what is wrong with it. Check on Swedespeed or turbobricks, or any of the Volvo lists - there may be a Volvo guru near your location who is trusted and has decent prices.

In Colorado, there's Carl Duke Volvo in Loveland and in Denver you have Voltek - both are excellent independent shops with people who love Volvos and know them inside and out. And not just the new stuff.

I would like to rebuild the front disk brake calipers as one of mine is sticking[wont release properly.my volvo is a 1984/5 240 gl turbo wagon engine b230e with solid rotors

suprisingly, these are still available new, from volvo,as rebuilding them is NOT reccommended(unless you have specialist tools)you could get "exchange" units from a specialist supplier.(in the UK)chances are the pistons are rusted causing them to stick, you may be able to polish them up?

Got a 84 volvo t. like to get info about the unusual efi. anything is better than the actual nothing. or maybe a web page to get it. thanks.

What kinds of problems are you having? I do have manuals but would probably have to email them to you. Maybe I can help you solve you problem. Worked on these for some time. The system uses a F.I. system called CIS. Not to bad to work with. Just don't turn anything unless you are sure you KNOW what it does or you can set yourself back a few days. Let me know.

Fuse keeps burning out

If fuses keep blowing, then there is a dead short somewhere,. My advice would be to go to an auto electrician. You did not mention for which circuit/s the fuses blow.

No power to injectors on 1984 Volvo 240 DL New wiring harness

ok you must see what is missing. an injector requires 12volts to operate. the 12+ should be constant when key on and engine on or off,and the ground pulses. check both ways and see whats not there. if you have no pulse then ecm,cam sensor, or wiring faulty. is power+ is gone, then you have wiring trouble wich is the easier soulution. check and let us know

Starting a 1984 240 DL Volvo wagon after sitting in a garage for 5 years. Previously looked after really well and regularly serviced one owner.

Replace engine oil and filter, air filter and fuel filter.
Drain the fuel tank and add fresh fuel.
Remove the spark plugs and put a squirt of oil in each cylinder. Remove coil lead and crank engine until oil pressure comes up.(light goes out),
replace coil lead and start engine.. it will blow smoke for first few minutes. Check trans fluid, brake fluid etc before driving. Theres a good chance the brakes will need an overhaul.
