Its your serpentine belt (thats what its called) and you will need a 3/8 ratchet and then find the belt tensioner. The tensioner has a spot where you need to put the ratchet into and pull or push depending on whatever way and that will releive the pressure off the belt so you can take it off.

Hyundai Sante Fe makes a screeching noise when I run the fan for heat or air conditioning. Really bad in the rain and is very lould. What is it? I've had the belts checked
Wow, I thought I was the only one to have this issue. I've even taken it to a shop and they claim they have no idea what is causing this. I always have to turn the fan off to make the noise go away. After a few minutes I can put the heat or air conditioning back on and the noise is no longer there. There are days when I have to do this every few minutes, especially in the rain.

On the 2001 Sante Fe that year had with or without AC, I have AC but want to know if I can get the non-AC belt and simple bypass the compressor converting it to non ac??
Is the compressor locked up and this is why you want to make it non-AC? If so just remove the compressor clutch plate and you will be fine. Respond if you need instructions for this.

you have to remove the AC panel from the back side... the virtical console pops out and you can disconnect it (wire harness connectors) to get to it.

The 2.4 & 3.5 engine, its located in the front next to the timing belt, a little more complicated to to install.
