SOURCE: Replacing broken front corner light panel on Volvo 850

When you open the hood, look directly behind the headlight. all the way in the corner and a little way down should be a hook. I usually use a screwdriver and pull directly outward and then a little to the right or left. Then bring the hook back and the corner light should be disconnected. Then you can pull it out and do what you need to do. When you put it back, its a pain because you have to get the hook into a plastic groove. Make sure that you know where the plastic piece is before you start, just get a flashlight and find it. Then use your screwdriver the pull the hook up and get it into the groove. Presto!

SOURCE: Seat belt stuck

I solved this on my 95 volvo 850 glt as follows:

pull the seatbelt pilar cover off from the door jamb. this runs vertically up the pilar between the front an back door (beside the front seats. Once opened loosen the belt by gently pulling the belt upward toward the roof. You'll have to do this sometimes in small increments. Once the seatbelt is pulled out all the way, spray small amount of lubricant into the joint where at the top of the belt spool. Also use a screw driver to push spool upward while pulling the belt. At first it's only going to release a little but eventually the lubricant will work its way into the seam at the top of the belt spool and loosen up the stuck inertia catch. Until it completely loosens you might have to remove the pilar cover again and work the seatbelt out (also use the screw driver technique described above) in order to use the seatbelt. When parking, I would relatch the seatbelt and pull the slack up around the back of the head rest. After a day or so it worked normally.

I have a leaky hose above the lower radiator hose on my 1995 volvo 850 2.4 engine,is this a coolant line to the transmission or to the power steering? PLEASE NO SPAM OR ADVERTISING,AND DO NOT SHARE E-MAIL

determine this by looking to see if the coolant line leads to the transmission (bell housing made of aluminum in general) or it leads to the power steering pump (belt driven)

1995 volvo 850 turbo sedan, tested with OBDII,gave me 2 fault codes. Replaced some hoses, now reading "no faults", but it still wont start. Acts like its not getting fuel. How can I make sure that its...

Did you replace hoses to eliminate the codes?? Try checking all the fuses for a start then check for any ignition sparks then try to listen to the fuel pump activation on IGN and STRT as well just try to go step by step and eliinate the different components as you go. Good luck.

If you look underneath the car, directly beneath the left hand side of the radiator, you will see the drain plug. you can use either a 6mm alan key or a 13mm deep socket to undo the plug.
