the filter is on the frame., drivers side. The pump is inside the fuel tank. the problem wont be the filter, but you should replace it anyhow when replacing the pump. be sure to check the fuse and relay. the pump should come on when turning the key on, for 2 seconds, and when cranking. sometimes you can rap on the bottom of the fuel tank and get the pump going. if that gets it going, you need a pump.
Questions for you. Is the fuel pump working? When you turn the key(just not enough to turn the starter), do you hear the fuel pump? Should be like a buzzing noise for about 10 to 15 seconds. When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? They do get clogged and will halt the flow of fuel. That's all I can say with what you typed.
Great question............You are right and the sensor is located jost downstreem of the fuel pump and make sure all fuses are servicable......................Hope this helps.
The electric fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. Lift up the rear carpet in the load area and you should see a round plate , remove the screws and then the plate. There will be the fuel pump along with the fuel pick up and sensor for the guage. Turn the big round plastic outer ring anti clockwise and then the electric connection and fuel pipes. now it can be removed. Refit is reversal of removal. Are you sure the pump is faulty, did you check the fuse. If the fuse is ok , then gain access to the fuel pump, but before removing, get a test lamp and see if you have power getting to the pump, using the electric connection, try with just the contact first and also with the engine cranking/turning over. This will erradicate any misdiagnosis , wether its the pump or an electric installation problem.
Hope this helps
