I have a 2007 Chevy Malibu. I filled up my tank with gas, and the gas gauge went to zero. The low fuel light came on and as well as the engine light. Once my car gets down to half a tank of gas, the gauge goes back up, but the engine light continues to stay on. Help! Please!!
This is a common problem with Malibu's. It is due to cheap metal in the fuel gage that corrodes. Chevrolet knows about this but they refuse to issue a fix. The check engine light staying on and the faulty fuel gage are related. This is a defect and they need to recall this part! Raise hell with the dealership!
My chevy hhr engine would turn on everytime my gas will hit half of tank but its been a month that its been on and doesn't turn off

You will most likely need to replace the fuel pump assembly. The fuel gauge sender is attached to this.
They cost about $150-250 and it is located in the gas tank.
For now, make sure that your tank is full and keep track of miles driven so that you do not run out of gas.
Many parts stores will check the trouble code and reset the engine light for free.
They can tell you if there are any other problems.
ok cool ty could it bee a censer for the fuel and its running rich
