Where is the Mass Airflow Sensor located? I am getting P2431 and P2433 codes and no shop that I've been to can tell me where it is or they all say it is something different. I also apparently have a California model, which may make a difference.

As far as I know, the Stratus/Sebring 2.4L DOHC, does NOT use a MAF, but a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor or MAP ... but as you said, your car could be different. The MAP islocated close tothe brake booster, follow the vacuum tubing line and wiring harness to locate it. Photos can be seen at the Autozone website.

SOURCE: mass airflow sensor

It's usually mounted between the air filter housing and the throttle plate, in that big round hose.

For a ford f150 4.3 engine code p1518 intake manifold runner control malfunction [stuck open] and code p0102 MAF sensor circuit low input. What do you think it will take to repair?

Thanks for not telling us the year. Really helps not knowing, esp since Ford used vacuum motors on some years and not on others. If you have vacuum motors, I'd suspect a vacuum leak

What else could cause the check engine code to read mass airflow sensor?

OBD Codes have nothing to do with telling you the
problem or the need to replace parts

Codes are used to diagnose the system with the fault,
that set the codes

Have to component test the entire vehicle system, to find a
problem

You were only told about the code

No one can tell you what the problems may be, until the vehicle
is properly tested to even find a problem

Code P1102 - States pending fault.

P1102 for the Mazda is :Mass Airflow Sensor Signal Inconsistent with Throttle Position Sensor. The Mass Airflow Sensor is located in the housing before the Throttle body; it reads the air coming into the system....the Throttle Position Sensor tell the ECU how much throttle you are asking for....I think that the in-air flow and the throttle are not getting the same answer; example would be that you are driving fifty miles an hour and either the MAS or the TPS are not seeing (receiving) this information. Note; most times the MAS is at fault, it can be cleaned but be very careful.

Code 157

Error code 157 on your vehicle indicates a problem with your mass airflow sensor. The mass airflow sensor gives a reading based on the air intake and output within the engine compartment. A properly functioning sensor will contribute to better fuel economy. In some instances, you may be able to clean your mass airflow sensor to clear the error code, but the error will most likely return in a short time. Fortunately, replacing the mass airflow sensor is a reasonably simple repair.

The mass airflow can get dirty and you will get trouble codes for everything under the hood except for the mass airflow. Try unplugging your mass airflow and driving the vehicle, if your problem goes away you need to clean the sensor. Buy some mass airflow cleaner though because other cleaners can damage the coating on the sensor.

X TYPE YELLOW WARNING LIGHT

I recently had the same code come up when my car failed to start in the mornings. It also said that the crank sensor had failed. Having changed the sensor and still not starting it went back to the garage. According to a Jag enineer the ECU will fail to register if it gets less than 12v from the battery, this will also throw up several codes for the diagostics. Solution, change the battery. Problem solved.
