Engine cutting out

hi, i would like to advice you check the electronic idle speed control valve and also check engine coolant temp sensor. The ISC (idle speed control valve) is located somewhere below the throttle valve. the engine coolant temp sensor is located near distributor. it has a two wire connection. the sensor connector is usually green

At this motor's age the vacuum lines need replacing, new air filter, and see if it wants high test fuel.

Its a hot start issue.

Can be related to low fuel pressure or problem with crank sensor.

Also it can be weak battery or starter.

But possibilities are to be inspected to confirm what exactly it is.------

Sounds like the Oxygen Sensor could be faulty, or the fuel delivery system is going haywire for some reason (leaky or plugged injector on some cylinders).

The fuel delivery is controlled by the Oxygen sensor, though.

sounds like a bad idle control sensor.as long as you're driving it and giving it gas it runs somewhat ok right? it won't idle by itself,or it idles up and down by itself and then dies?thats a sign of a bad idle control sensor,some times they straighten up after the engine warms up and run fine.but eventually go completely bad and won't idle at all. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

hello this is a fuel trim malfunction bank sensor 1 meaning O2 sensor is malfunctioning .Oxygen sensor

just 3 sensors . u need to check throttle body bolt make sure tight/no vacuum leaks/plugged pvc/or camshaft lobes worn/leakin head gasket do compression test

yes an o2 sensor can cause those symptoms so can a minor vacuum leak --bad ignition wire -clogging fuel filter --sticking egr valve etc.

try a new crankshaft sensor not hard to change 2 bolts and a wire

Check the timing and compression of the engine. It sounds like you either have a blown head gasket or a the timing jumped.
