HONDA INTERNAVI CAR NAVIGATION SYSTEM
I am in New Zealand. I have bought a 2007 Honda Crossroad imported from Japan. The car has an imporessive Honda Internavi Car Navigation System which intergrates Japanese GPS, mobile phone, reversing camera, audio, TV, DVD, CD etc on a touch screen and steering wheel control BUT all graphics and buttons are in Japanese script. Unfortunately the car didn't come with any instruction manuals. I want to know anything anyone else might know about the entire system, in English language please.
The audio system seems to rip CDS to a HDD.
The radio still receives a Japanese station
The TV picks up some local channels but only audio
The GPS still reads Japanese cities but is active, as if we are driving in Japan!
Plesae contact me if you might be able to help with providing English language instructions manuals, or information about how software might be updated to New Zealand GPS and English instructions.

Hi Peter, since there's no english language support in honda navi systems, my suggestion is to scrap the head unit and buy an aftermarket one. Kenwood or JVC 2-din units are compatible with Honda systems. If you have steering control, install SWI interface module (google: pac swi). If you have reverse camera, check that the player have CCD input. If the aftermarket unit have built-in GPS, make sure you load the map for your country. You can get a decent one for about USD400 (c/w CD / DVD / MP3 player and all those new stuffs).
Will the reverse camera give the guide lines if we replace the original one by a JVC or a kenwood one?
Moshahriz, is there a guide available that outlines the process to carry out the change you have outlined.

I am also facing same issue with my accord 2005 CL-7. However, I sucessed to configure my mobile via bluetooth and its working fine. It was totally hit and trial and if I have to configure again can not becuase all is in japanees. Such a beautiful car with very bad utilization of its accessoreres. I have tried to my local Honda dealers and they said, they can not do anything to change this.
I don't know how Honda company is taking this matter and what is the streatgy behind all this.

Hello pete, i'm also facing the same problem. concerning with no video output, i have seen a separated switch bet navi and video, in one of my fri's 2010 fit. but i dont know how to modify that unit in my country, myanmar. fortunately, i can use usb input as my fit shuttle contains a cable for usb. pls share if u get any solution to that navi language problem. thanks.

I'll just add my voice to everyone else. I have a Honda Stream and can't find a suitable work around to the internavi system. I believe Honda Internavi could do a software update to include the english language as an option. Not sure if anyone in this forum is able to contact someone in R&D at Honda Internavi. Any feedback to any of the attempts made would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Guys i have the same issue fortunately i was able to link my phone to the Vehicles bluetooth hands free system using google translate app iPhone. Honda Kenya says theres nothing that can be done to lady speaking in japanese

Having the same issues with the navigation system ie All In Japanese
I'm trying to at least hook onto the bluetooth to no avail

Larrisda, I live in Antigua and just bought a 2004 Edix as well. It's really frustrating that the navigation system is only in Japanese. I can't even adjust the time which is wrong.

How to change from japanese to English???
Use google translator to understand the Japanese interface. Delete the previous paired phone first because the internavi unit paired maximum number of phones and cannot connect to anymore phone. Then can do as someone shown on youtube .

contact ur local honda dealer and they should provide u a number and or website so u can order /purchase the updated disk for ur navi....i cant really solve ur problem, but thats how we use to deal with issues like that in the dealer...
