how about the switch of the bottom of the brake pedal ck there , might be a bad ground wire jump it out with one and see what happens , see if you are getting power to the red wire while the pedal is depressed in the back , if so your light sockest could be bad , but highly unlikly
This is a common problem check the ground on that tail lamp assembly as you step on the brake the power sent to the bulb can not find ground and is returning thru the turn signal bulb so 2 positive sources keep the bulb out.
does the high mounted brake light work? the brake switch has 2 contacts one for the high mount (LT BLUE/BLACK) and one for the tail brake lights. The tail/brake light wire is LIGHT BLUE. the main connector between the brake light switch and the tail lights is C208 which is located behind the rear seat, left side. So if there is power coming out of the brake switch OK and no power at the tail lights, check that connector. Hope this helps.
Since the high mounted brake light works you know that the brake light switch is working. Now you need to check the brake light bulbs in the rear tail light assemblies. The brake lights are separate from the tail light (parking or running lights). There are two screws that hold the rear light assemblies in place.
Unplug the wires from the housing (remeber where they go markignt hem if need be). Then you will eb able to pull the light bulb housing off the light housing. the bulb will then pull or twist out of this hosuing(sure is alot of housings :) ). from there its just putting it all back togther
Do you know if the brake light bulbs are working? (are the bulbs good?). (the bulbs have two parts, one for brake lights the other for running lights) If the third brake light bulb is working the brake lights should be with good light bulbs.
2002 honda odyssey with bulbs out. can't get it out of park.
using release tab on top of steering wheel housing to get around.
