SOURCE: my 03' vw gti won't start. it has a normal crank
does it occur mainly after a rain or washing of the vehicle / and it may also be a feature that some vehicles have that will not allow it to start when such things as low oil is sensed or other fluid levels ...or perhaps a wire is jarred just enough {an exposed wire }to touch ground causing this as well or maby a cracked or dry rotted vacuum line is an issue ..even a loose fuse check these areas as well .......and look for anything just obvious disconnected corroded or otherwise .....hope this helps you

It should be on the intake manifold. I think its on the driver side it is cylindrical and has two lines going into it on one end making them 90 degree config and a rectangular plug on the opposite end with a bracket mounting it to the manifold.

SOURCE: 1997 VW Golf GTI 2 Litre. The ABS light comes on
Hello, My 2000 2.0 Golf just recently had the same problem. I would feel the ABS pump working at certain times through the accelerator pedal. I found the right rear sensor failed the Bentley manual continuity test . After removing it I found it was pretty rusted. The sensor head is located inside the rear brake disc hub area and this probably explained this rust. The rust probably worked its way into the sensor body where you can't clean it and thus the resistance value went above specification. I ordered mine through Autohaus and cost me just over $50.00 for both rear sensors. Even though my drivers side was good I replaced it at the same time. The ABS light hasn't been on for 4 days now..
SOURCE: The fan won't shut off after turning off the
That fan is to cool the engine. It is normal for it to continue to cool after the enging is shut off and operates much longer in hot weather than in cold weather. If you think it is cooling to long before shutting off I would check the cooling system to see that it is operating correctly. If no and the engine is overheating somewhat that is why the fan runs longer.
