Everything as in the engine continues to run, the radio stays on, the power windows continue to work, etc? What happens when you open the drivers front door? Does everything turn off? If not does the dome light work when the drivers front door is open? If it does not than the drivers front door switch might be the issue.

The wipers, radio, and instrument panel stays lite up. The truck recognizes that all the doors are open when opening them. I have replaced the ignition switch with no changes I believe this one is gonna be outta my capabilites. I believe I have a problem with the bcm. What do you think
So I took it the Chevy dealer and they tested the bcm, pcm, and ecm and flashed all with no luck. They are telling me that it is a possible wiring issue and they wanted to keep it. I believe I am going to try and hunt this one down on my own before paying alot of money. I believe I will start by replacing battery cables. Anyone else have any ideals
Replacing the battery cables will not help. You are looking for a short to power. If your can tell me specifically what is on and what is not on I can help you narrow down some circuits.
The bcm is not getting correct power. Everything stays on after vehicle is off wipers, radio, instrument panel lights.
In the I/P block you should be able to find two fuses, TBC ACCY and TBC IGN 0 check for power at those fuses with the key off. There should be none.
In the underwood fuse block you should see a fuse called TBC IGN 1. There should be no power at that fuse with the key off as well.
Checked those fuses the other day and they do have power all the time. Almost every fuse in the fuse box has power with ignition off
What happens if you unplug the ignition switch?
With it unplugged check for power on the orange, yellow and white wires. There should be none. If there is power on one or more let me know wich one and we'll narrow it down a little more.
Also check the brown and pink wires with the ignition switch unplugged. There should be no power there as well.
If everything turns off with the ignition switch unplug than I have to wonder if the new ignition switch was installed correctly. I have replaced many of them over the years and I always struggle to get the teeth lined up correctly so the switch works in the correct positions.
