'94 Regal with automatic transmission has what appears to be a shudder in the drive train (not a vibration in the chassis). It is noticeable at any speed over 20 mph but is worse near 50 mph. It's not all the time but very frequently. Worse in Drive but it also occurs in 3rd and 2nd gears. Cruise control on/off has no effect.
Maybe related - after accelleration (passing or getting on highway) where transmission downshifts, it doesn't always upshift when returning to a constant speed. Slowing the vehicle or shifting out of Drive into Neutral or 3rd has no impact. After 10 seconds to 2 minutes it may upshift on gear than another delay before getting back to highest gear. Happens at all speeds more frequently at highway speeds. Cruise control on/off has no effect.

Just guessing. Could it be a warped brake disk? That would cause vibration. And vibration in steering might conceivably cause splashing out the power steering reservoir. You would know if the disk were warped by a shudder when you brake at hight speeds.

have your fuel system vacuumed out our excursion did it as well the injectors are not at fault it is the fuel lines

Sir I would first change my filter. When you do you should be able to acertain if anything is wrong by what yuo find in your pan. I think your clutchs are probably bad, but with out being able to scan it I don't have any other ideas. I have been lucky a couple of time before and changing the filter solved my problem. Your car is in limp mode generally you have reverse and second gear. 1st gear and reverse use the same clutches, so I am wondering if maybe you have second gear only!

My wife's 02 Audi A4 1,8t had the same problem after talking with Audi (coil pack/spark plugs) we replaced them all and the problem still persisted not to say that won't fix your problem but what I found to be the problem was 3/8 vacuum line (shaped like a S) that comes up on the right hand side between the oil filter and the fire wall that comes from the turbo check valve assembly (its hard to locate and should be done with the engine cool) up to a valve assembly that connects to the intake manifold, what was happening was the hose would become spongy at the bottom (you will have to squeeze the hose from top to bottom to notice the difference) and as the engine heats up it would cause the hose to collapse. Once I replaced the hose and the computer reprogrammed the fuel mixture (about 25 miles of driving) the problem seems to have been correct. Good luck.I had also replaced the turbo check valve about three years ago because of a severe hesitation when you first apply gas (turbo check valve may not be the proper name.) Sorry.
