Where do you plg in cd changer on 1997 mercury sable wagon

For 1999 Mercury Sable 3.0L EFI 6cyl the Fuel Filter is located under vehicle, passenger side, below seating area, passenger side of fuel tank, mounted on chassis in fuel line.

6 Cylinders S 3.0L SFI DOHC (found in 22% of 1997 Mercury Sable)
6 Cylinders U 3.0L SFI (found in 78% of 1997 Mercury Sable)

the unit at front with the ac controls is just a remote control unit , the radio is in your trunk left side
you have to remove the carpet and you will find a free 13 pin plug , that is the cd changer connector
it is the same in all taurus and sable from 1996 to 2007

Rebuilding the transmission. That's quite a few miles on your transmission and the seals are finally letting go.

If you are looking for the powertrain control module (PCM) it is located in the right rear corner of engine compartment ( Passenger side), mounted in Firewall

lift headrest all the way up then insert a pic in the tiny hole on the left column

try new plugs and wires and some fuel injector cleaner should make a big difference

if there is one, then it is probably ither in the glove box or in the trunk under/behind a panel (it should be clearly removable). you may also want to try looking in the center console.
