From toggle switch straight to starter you still need key so steering wheel won't lock

your steering column has a plate with 4 inverted torx fasteners I believe they are e8 fasteners, you must remove the upper tilt flange to gain access to these bolts , a few special tools will be needed : Pivot pin puller , steering wheel puller , lockplate depresser to name 3. the job takes about 1.5 hours to complete. hope this helps a little.

SOURCE: need to replace ignition switch

well, after the wheel there is a disk with notches in it that comes off and has a c clip holding it there, there is a spring behind it then take off the turn signal switch, then there is a small bolt or screw to take off where the switch is(still behind the steering wheel)put your key to accessories then pull the switch out,if you have no key, then you have to either break the switch or get a locksmith to do it,ive done it in my chevys and its not really fun without a key

Remove lower dash panel, under steering wheel, there will be a bracket that holds steering wheel, remove both 15mm nut's that point up, not the 13mm bolt's the screw into the colum , steering wheel will come down enough where you will see the ignition switch on the top side of the colum, the switch will be screw to the colum with the head light dimer switch.

Put the starter in and hooked up the battery and no power to the starter it dont even turn over and the battery is fully charged

sounds like sthe ignition switch. when you turn the key to run do yhe dash lights come on? there is a rod that connects to the key switch and runs down the top of the steering colume. at the top of your colume just before the brake pedal. you should see it. that is actually the switch . to access easier take lower panel off and remove the two bolts that secure the colume. the colume will come down some to give better access. you will need it. there is a couple of small screws that hold it. also check the plug for overheating, this is common. good luck

I am still havun problems with my 1997 camaro rs, the back turnsignals work but the front doesn't i was asked to check the elays but that is not the problem if there are any other suggestions they would...

there is a big conector coming from the steering colum, and is goin to the turn signal switch turn the signal on and test that you have a blinking power, at two cables then turn the other side on and do the same, if you have not power on two cables per side then you need a new turn signal switch, just make sure not to test any thing with yellow color because that's going to the air bag and you might deploy the air bag.
