SOURCE: 2009 impala driver side power seat won't move up/down, makes whirring sound when attempted. Moves forward backward. Passenger seat works properly.

Before you do any of the expensive things disconnect and reconnect the wiring to the seat I had the same exact problem with my 2009 Chevy Impala and was ready to take it to the dealer when I disconnected the power cables to it and reconnected them I found that one of the Harnesses was loose and the problem was solved

2007 Impala power seat (Drivers Side)

I have a 2007 Impala. Thank you razor67 for the tap. I did not even remove the seat motor. All I used was an 18 inch rod and a hammer from the rear and hit the motor a couple of times and it's freed.
