Here is a picture of a ODB II port. They are usually located under the dash on the drivers side but on a few vehicles they could be found inside behind fold down panel on passenger side or in the glove box.

Can anyone tell me where I can find ths odb 1 connector for engine codes in a 94 Izuzu Rodeo? Thanks in advance.

Some versions use another location. It is on the knee panel on the driver's side. It is a 'clip in' cover plate just below the dash switch's between the steering wheel and the door. Attached is a photo to use for reference.

Where is the OBD connector on a 2010 mercury mariner

Hi Chad,

Here is a follow up for you. The picture provided is from a 2005 with the OBD location. http://www.obd-2.de/carcode/pics/dlc/ford/Mercury-MarinerHybrid-2005.jpg .

Looking at many examples on line from all applications. The majority of these plugs are under the steering column. Either right or left mounted under the dash board.

On some foreign models . Remove the droor between the center console. And it will be mounted on the floor between the seats.

Fare . Well.

Where is the OBD plug?

On the1995 Jeep Cherokee, the OBD1 connector is located in the engine compartment on the left side, between the air cleaner and the computer module. It's a funny looking plug, not the standard OBD connector.

Where is the obd port on my 1995 Isuzu Rodeo?

Here is a photo of the obd connector on a 1993 Isuzu Trooper.

The connector is on the transmission hump about 6 inches from the accelerator pedal. It is inside a black hood. Right next to the white OBD connector is an identical green connector that I have not tested.

The OBD port is a white 3 hole plug. Right next to it in the photo is a green 3 hole plug that I believe is for automatic transmission diagnostics. The plug is different from other plugs under the dash as it will not accept a .25" tab connector.

The picture shows a 20 ohm resistor being used to short pin 1 and 3 of the white plug. The resistor is to prevent a melted wire in case the plug shorted is the wrong plug.

To read the error codes from the engine computer, the mechanic is supposed to short pin 1 and pin 3 of the OBD port plug. Then the mechanic turns on the ignition switch and counts flashes of the "check engine" light to determine the error values being reported.
