2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer
Several days ago I was running around town and vehicle was running fine. About the third time UI startted it it was barely running. It appeared to me the choke had stuck.
I took it home and removed the air box and sprayed the throttle body down with a carb. cleanner startted it and it ran better than it had in a while.
Last night as I startted it to come home from a resturant it is missing and the "check engine soon" light flashes on aceleration. then goes off.
any ideas?
This morning my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer was driving fine and then it felt as if it was sputtering (I felt it through the gas pedal) or missing, so I accelerated and it kept going but then my check engine light flashed on and off several times and I slowed down a little bit, then the light went off. I made it to work but am afraid of what may happen come lunchtime. Any ideas?
It sounds like u got a coil pack going out. Alot of times when your engine is cold or when you arn't putting a load on it the coils won't fail. How ever when the engine reaches operating temperatures and there is load on the coils that is when they are going to break down. my advice would be to get a scanner and see what cylinder the missfire is at then swwap that coil to another cylinder to verify that the coil is defective. If it is purchase another with a new spark plug put it in and let it rip.
