My 2008 dodge avenger electronic throttle control light comes on and off
The car has to be diagnosed
There is a good chance that the
ETC light has nothing to do with
the actual reason it set a fault code
On a ford, you have bad ignition coils that
don't ground out in the computer & set etc
The dealers & shops throw all sorts of parts
at the unknown & have no idea what happened
or how to diagnose.
You need to have a shop or dealer use the codes
& other reference material properly, to find the issue

It depends on who you go to and if you want it done right. I went to the Dealership and had them put front brakes on my 2008 Dodge Avenger and it has been in the shop every 2-4 months since then for front brakes. They replaced the entire front brake system and my 08 Avenger is still eating brakes. I finally took it to a friend who owns a auto repair shop he replace the rotors which are total about 115.00 for each from AutoZone and replaced the brake pads for 50.00 so it cost me just parts 155.00 and my Avenger is running smoothly since haven't had problems with the brakes since. Go to Midas and let them change it for roughly 89.00 avoid the dealership at all cost they can run 200.00-500.00 depending on if it is just the brakes pads or if it is the rotors and pads.

ther is an electric solenoid in the shifter the fuse may have blown but if you have ever spilled anything sweet ,soda juice etc it will get sticky and gum up not letting it operate as designed check fuses first, if fuse is good then go to solenoid

There is a PCM flash update for this problem. The dealer should know about this I have done a couple of these so far. Hope this helps please rate if it does.

it's DOT 4 or DOT 5 check with your manual and sometimes it's even in the fluid fill cap.
