Ok i'm trying to change the front brake pads on 2006 ford expedition and it doesnt take a T40 or t45 torx the rear ones took a T47 but the front ones takes something else the next size is a t 50 a

The front caliper takes a 9mm hex drive socket, and you can order it from Snap-on tools online. Nobody else had this socket and its the only one that is made for that caliper.

Want to know the size of the allen head screw that holds the front caliper together on a 2007 expedition 2wd 5.4 liter limited

These are mostly metric now. Sorry the sizes are not listed in the shop manual. Some are TORX head as well. (star shaped). Take a close look to see what you have. Sears will let you return any unused tools.

What size allen wrench to remove front brake caliper

i just changed my front rotors and pads on my 2001 escape, 6 cylinder. everyone was wrong on the wrench sizes, including the idiots at my local ford dealer. to get the brake calipers off I needed a 7mm hex bit. to get the caliper bracket off I needed an 18mm socket, it was a very easy job but check your wrench sizes first, it seems that every year and model uses different sizes.

Tool required to remove front brake caliper

3/8 allen key or T45 or T50 torx bit. The allen key is the correct tool but the torx bit will work in a pinch.

What type of wrench is needed to remove front disc brake caliper? It has a rubber boot over it. A 1/4 hex is too small and a 5/16" too big.

if its a hex may be 7MM. does it look like a star? its a TORX. you will need a set, pretty cheap at the parts store.

2002 silverado 2500HD rear brake question????

You'll need a T-55 torx bit to remove the rear caliper pins/bolts. You can try using an insert style bit...one that removes from the socket or perhaps purchase a replacement bit (one that would be used in a cordless drill/driver.) The one I used had a 5/16" hex shank. Like you said, there is very little clearance between the head and the leaf springs, which won't allow room for a breaker bar and torx bit. So using a 5/16" wrench, ( I'd recommend a 6 point box wrench to prevent slipping or rounding off.) I was able to loosen the bolt. Or plan B is to remove the caliper mounting bracket which is held on by two 21 or 22 mm hex head bolts. Which would have to be removed to remove the brake rotor.
