Automotive electrical problem

Daniel, If battery is known to be good, could be bad connections at battery, starter/solenoid, or ground on engine/frame, battery cables also could be bad with build up of corrosion internally. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Won't turn over

Even though all your other electrical bits are working it could be that your battery doesn't have enough juice to crank the engine. It doesn't take much power to run the radio, lights, etc, but cranking the engine requires the battery to have a very strong charge. If your battery is more than 5 years old, that's very likely the issue. I'd start there. Also, be sure to check the battery terminals and ground for corrosion and clean if necessary. If replacing the battery doesn't solve the problem it could be the starter solenoid or a loose electrical connection somewhere.

MY PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER 'S HEADLIGHT'S AND DASH LIGHTS WORK, BUT THE ENGINE WON'T TURN OVER. THERE IS NO SPARK COMING FROM THE ELECTRICAL WIRES.

When you say no spark, are you talking about the spark plugs, or just the general wiring?

If the engine won't turn over, then it isn't moving, and if it isn't moving then you need to check the following in this order:

1) Does the battery have power i.e. around 12.4 volts or over? No? Charge, test or replace battery.

2) Do the car's head lights dim considerably if turned on when attempting to crank? Yes? Possible lack of battery charge or faulty battery.

3) Assuming the battery is fine, can you turn the dash warning lights on and off with the key? No? Faulty ignition switch.

4) Is there a click sound when you turn the key, but no starter motor spin? Check starter motor connections or replace starter motor.

If none of the above prove to be of help, then please report.

Won't start

Switch on head lights or cabin light. If they doesn't come on or is weak, the battery is flat. Ensure that you switch off the lights.
With ignition switched on, assuming the lights on the instrument panel cames on and your immobiliser is deactivated, turn ignition to start. You should hear the solenoid at the starter making a click sound. If not, the battery is flat or the starter solenoid is faulty. If it does make a click sound, the battery could be too low to turn the starter or the starter is faulty. Assuming the immobiliser is working correctly, and the starter tries to turn the engine but it doesn't want to turn, the gasket could be blown and the cylinder filled with water, or the engine could be seized.
Hope it is not the last case. MarioCpt

Car won't start...radio and lights and heater all work..can hear a buzzing sound by the starter,,,has a fairly new battery,,,,,

Have the battery tested and check battery posts for corosion. The buzzing sound is the solonoid trying to connect but there is not enough current to turn the engine. It take a lot more current to turn the engine than it does to run the radio, lights and/or heater fan. It is also possible to get a new battery with a dead or bad cell in it. The battery may not have enough cold cranking amps for your model vehicle. Take it back to where ever you bought the battery. If it is within the warranty period, they should give you a prorated discount on the replacement.

Car won`t start at all. Just a fast clicking sound from the engine when the ignition key is turned. The lights, radio etc all work fine.

Low battery or bad connection at terminal. Try jumping from a car that's running. If it still doesn't crank, then you have a bad solenoid.
