Fuse location 89 K1500 - 1989 Chevrolet C1500

The 95 GMC 1500 V6 automatic transmission may not be compatible with the 89 K1500 V8 4x4 due to differences in engine size and drivetrain. It's recommended to use a transmission that matches the engine and drivetrain specifications of your 89 K1500.

It is probably the actuator that locks in the hubs.

Its in the fuse block under the dash on the left side of the steering column on the firewall may have a black cover over it...the lower right side of the fuse panel is the flasher location..

I had this happen on my 88 k1500 turned out to be the 4x4 actuator...

you should be able to just unscrew two screws that holds the tail light to the truck, then just twist and pull to remove the bulbs then replace with a new bulb, this should fix it. otherwise its a wiring issue

Pretty sure its either behind the right kick panel or behind the glovebox if I remember correctly.
