Power locks and power trunk dont work - 2007 Scion tC Coupe

Did you call a locksmith,or call dealer and ask for parts and see if they know how.

My car has a fuse box near the battery. when you take the cover off there is a map under the cover to show what all the fuses and relays are. I would check the fuses.

Check where the wiring harness runs up the drivers side trunk lid support arm. I just fixed that exact same problem on my Caprice. The ground wire is probably broken. When that happens, there is enough to pull the soleniod when there is no load, but when the trunk is closed and there is a load on the latch, there isn't enough power to pull the soleniod open to release the trunk. Is your license plate light working? They use the same ground. -------------------------------------------------------

if the car has a power trunk release you can jump the switch using a piece of wire to just about any power source in the car such as a light or even to the batt.

you have a fuse out somewhere the seats and locks are probably on the same fuse look for a fuse panel

you need to have the trunk open and the lock unlocked first then you can get the barrel out of the lock and remove the broken part of the key,,,so dont lock the trunk till you get it fixed,,,

This happened to me, someone had accidentaly switched the button inside the glove compartment to lock, which locks everything except a few items for the Valet key, keeping trunk, locks and fuel door closed until that silly button is put back in original unlocked position. Goofy, but I suppose it's a good feature for some, sure had the Cadillac guy concerned for about ten minutes until he remembered that stupid lock out option inside the glove compartment!

Had similar problem when keys accidently locked in trunk.Solved by drilling 1 inch circular cutout (series of small drill holes) behind number plate above lock. Lock operating bar then visible. Lock released using long nosed plyers. Note.. release button on lid failed to operate as by coincidence wiring loom failed where it passes trunk hinge ! Hole re-sealed and number plate replaced. I had vallet key but this dosnt open trunk. Hope this helps Pete

I have a 01 beetle that moonroof closes to about 3" from closed position, then reopens... It will not close all the way. I have cleaned and oiled the tracks?????

If you already checked your fuses & they are good you might want to look for an in line fuse in the wiring
