wow, no car maker stated, no year, (96'+?) and no car model.
and no engine stated, so all answers will be wild guessing. (MINE TOO)! no country stated either.....
meaning now that opens an endless book, huh
3 years off ASE training ,all typed here? 50 years experience. .
here are some small hints.
this is called OBD2 monitors.
and monitor runs full time key on and more running. (like a nanny)
it sees errors and reports them, .
the ASE Tech looks them up in the FSM for this exact car, not others
and finds out what the test does, and why it fails. (test specs)
those are the basic ROPE'S. (and reset it and see if it comes back)
p1 is a factory code not unversal federal P0 codes....
so only the correct book works.
alldata.com is best ,IMO.
using google we see the warnings, do not guess at maker names.
and shows, not to guess what it means, P1 means that.
P1492 CHRYSLER
P1492 DODGE
P1492 INFINITI
P1492 JEEP
P1492 MITSUBISHI
P1492 NISSAN
P1492 SUBARU
by no means a complete list.
