Engine starts but the car would not move - 1999 Honda Accord

HOW many miles on the engine (REDUX)?/? 3.5L V6 engine? or 2.5 or the Diesel??????????
I'd have to drive IT to know.
let me guess the mech tested the car and it ran OKAY, so says" I can't find the problem. " ( what else")
you never told what the engine does , when it does fail and is Intermittent.
just that engine is ON. (runs)
and car does not move, sometimes.
what matters first, only when it fails, is does ENGINE RPM RISE fast and high when it fails.
see how that works, if it did the transmission is slipping (CVT are not fun here)
2500 RPM when it fails, right foot in to the throttle pedal this is transmission slip (failure)
if RPM are low failed, that is engine failure. (lean burning) or EGR stuck on or other problems , many.

lost engine power. has lots of causes; but this is gas(petrol) answer.

1: engine failing ,top cause , VVT or that chain loud noise? ?
2: spark plugs bad over 100k miles, (not diesel)
3: fueling bad, even bad fuel, or goes lean due to fuel pressure loss.(low) fuel pump weak?

MT trans. got it. (said clutch let up.. is the clue)
engine is running right? (sorry)
and you shift to all gears, and car does not move, RIGHT?

if the clutch slips and car will not move in ALL gears.
the clutch is bad, or if a cable clutch, never setting free play on cable is the cause,... done 100s.
or if hydraulic actuated clutch pedal (im too lazy to look)
then if it fails the car can only moved if you start engine in gear.

i get in car,
i start engine in neutral. (did you) or start in gear with clutch to floor.?
i then select all gears, and release clutch and car will not move.
like that.... and win. (i can diagnose any clutch, ive wrecked many racing, so.... see all horrors) and fixed them by self. all.

if you can only move car , starting engine in gear.?
that is bad clutch cable or actuator (slave or master cylinder)

is the clutch locked all times, or slips all the time.

and 10 other symptoms. (chatters, noises, grabs, etc)

i cant read that.
1: i can't move shift lever, from park to drive?
2: the car will not move, that is i can not drive car.
3: the oil from (what) is overflowing. what oil, landing where?

the #3 is the most perplexing,
can you crank engine?
does engine start?
if engine oil is on the drive way, do not start car. or risk burning up engine,, (brown oil, not stink to high heaven)
if A/T (ATF) its pink oil, if on drive way, then the tranny is breached.
do not drive or the tranny will burn up.


to sure #1 , read the operators guide.
you start the engine,
apply the foot brake and the shifter lock ,releases.

Crankshaft sensor would be my first guess

car is cold and moving is OK if not moving getting hot could be thermostat stuck close or rad.is clog.

You need a motor. If it overheated and stalled as a result than you cooked the engine.

The car Gods created check engine lights so people don't have to guess at where to start. Get the codes read. Then you'll have a starting point. Waste of time to guess until you do that.

a broken engine mount,,

1.) start car in neutral,, with hood popped you will see the engine move ,,

2.) place in a drive gear and you will see it move as well

3.) do the same in reverse it will move as well,,

thats the signs of a broken engine mount..

try to adjust the neutral park switch.
