I have a 2004 Buick Regal and it just died. Let it sit then started again. Now it isn't staying running at all. It has no codes and have replaced the fuel filter several sensors and ignition module. Nothing has worked and now it just starts and immediately dies. We are stumped, could it be the fuel pump?

SOURCE: will start then dies

On the regals they have a ceramic resistor on the passanger side under the fender. It heats up and over time it tends to brake and the wire inside tends to rust away. The fuel pumps run in 2 different speeds. Had the same problem. Dealer only part yet the car would run and you would think it was the fuel pump. Turn the key it kicks on then start and dies out. Ceramic on the pass side would need replaced. It is white about 2-3 inches long or so held on with 2 bolts i do believe. Ill find a bulliten i found online to help me diagnos the problem. :) hopefully this helps someone out instead of spendin $$$ that ya cant afford with the recession eh?

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.

SOURCE: 99 buick regal won't start

Hello, the Regal seems to have that problem. Insert your key in the ignition and turn it but do not turn the car on, make sure you here the fuel pump kick in, then at the end of you r fuel rail there should be a cap, remove it, use a very thin screw driver and push that part in, Be careful it's going to squirt gas, that's a good sign. If it does not, check your fuel filter. And last, if nothing above described works first check your negative wire on your fuel pump, second your injectors, they might be clogged.
Best of luck, God Bless.

2001 Buick Regal just dies going down the road but starts again

Hi there,

Your vehicle's onboard computer will most likely tell you what's wrong - it could be one of many things relating to electrics, fuel or both.

I recommend you go to an "authorised" Buick service agent (who has the correct code reader) to get the codes read off your vehicle's computer. The dealer can explain what the codes mean.

Cheers,

Check the Tension on the Belt. If it is even a Little loose it will not allow the Battery to Charge. Check the Alternator Also.
