I will admit that this is not a solution to your problem but may help until you get it fixed. Many people sometimes forget that the ignition key can unlock the doors from the outside manually. Worth a try rather than crawling in through the trunk.

pressing the remote unlock button one time will unlock only the drivers door.press remote button twice in 5 seconds will unlock all doors.

change the batteries on both remotes.check out "sell by" dates are good.

put the key in the ignition and turn to on (not start) and hit unlock. then turn ignition to off position. do this 4 times the 4th time you turn the key and hit unlock you should hear the doors unlock. then with the ignition still on hit lock and everything should work. this sequence needs to be done quickly to work. - hope this helps

Sounds to me like perhaps there's an electrical issue going on here. You will probably need to take it to a mechanic or dealer to get fixed. I mean, if both the remote and the buttons fail to lock/unlock, it really sounds like an electrical issue.
Do any of the buttons work on any of the doors? If so, it may just be the driver's door that has a problem.

Press the passenger side door lock button. if the driver side door unlocks now but wont unlock when you hit the driver side door lock button, it is usually a network communication problem with the B CAN or a faulty Body Control Module.
