The coolant level sensor in the coolnat reservior is shorted out . The coolant level when driving is circulating fine . The coolant must be going just past the sensor and triggering it off.

Make sure over flow bottle of coolant is full or you could have a bad sensor in the overflow bottle

2001 Mazda MPV overheats. radiator hose doesnt feel pressurised ie very soft to squeeze. when i put coolant in after 5 mins of driving is backflows out of the reservoir and causes heavy smoking from t

sounds like the radiator is blocked either coolant flow or ext air flow through the matrix the thermostat can get ruined when the system overheats so allways change the stat after a overheat problem GET THE RAD CHECKED FIRST if ok check the coolant pump

1994 toyota pickup 4x4 sr5 v6 overheats after changing coolant

Sounds like your water pump may be not working, while vehicle is off try squeezing both upper and lower radiator hose you should be able to feel the fluid in the lines and the hose should feel firm and not squish all the way together. Make sure you used the right coolant orange vs green and mix ratio. after all this has been confirmed start vehicle and squeeze hoses again before they get to hot to make sure the fluid is moving and now hoses should be pretty hard to squeeze at all while the truck is running. if you don't feel movement of fluids or hoses are very squishy it could be a vacuum leak and worst case your water pump, hope this helps-

2001 olds silhouette engine overheats

Time for Intake Gaskets and possibly head gaskets, very common problem with these, the intake gaskets go bad and the coolant actually burns in the cylinder and of course the cylinder pumps air into the coolant system because of intake gaskets being bad. :-(

I have a 1999 oldsmobile that keeps overheating i had the radiator the thermostat the water pump and top hose replaced not used but brand new a broken head gasket has been ruled out i need help asap

Check hand brake is fully released. Why head gasket had been ruled out ? Run engine till warm, carefully open rad cap, let engine idle, look for BUBBLES IN COOLANT. IF YOU SEE ANY NO MATTER HOW SMALL, CHANGE HEAD GASKET.

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora and the Low Coolant light came on yesterday. I added coolant & reset the instrument panel but the warning kept coming on. Also the fan would kick on everytime the...

You could have a faulty radiator cap not allowing coolant to flow to the over flow reservoir. Also check where the hose at the radiator cap connects to the over flow hose as I've seen these get clogged up and cause problems. If you have a faulty thermostat this could also cause a vapor lock in the cooling system and would be apparent if the top radiator hose is collapsed.

2. low coolant level

On idle bmw 1997 318 overheats and blowers are cold.every was fine a week ago this car has only 47 000 miles and been serviced every year

well start by checking the coolant level it may be low,if it is then check for coolant leak, if coolant is full then bad news, ive done a few of these with overheating and no heat, they had bad head gaskets, if coolant is full have a block test done, this will confrim the gasket problem, also dont drive could cause converter and o2 sensor damage. good luck.
