96 buick lesabre climate control

It only blows heat at the highest temperature setting and otherwise blows cool.It functions the same on both driver and passenger sides.I think at the highest setting it should provide somewhat more heat as well.very warm but not hotThe fan seems to work just fine. Not sure if it's related or not but the ac currently does not work either..Thanx for your trouble I look forward to your response.Gary Beltinck

First you must determine if the coolant has reached normal temps ( feel heater hoses with your hand ) . Then you must deternine by switching the A/C ON, is the compressor operating ? If yes to both the porblem would be climate control mode system . Hope this helps

Is the coolant full ? Any discoloring of the coolant ,look like muddy water ? gm dexcool antifreeze if mixed with regular green coolant can gum up the works , clog heater cores , radiators etc.... Have you ever had the thermostat changed , cooling system flushed ?

  • Assumed your AC unit is OK, but uneven temperature distribution. Try to throw the heater on an off severtime. A sticky valve on the heater would cause similar problem.
  • Observe the RPM while parking your car. While the AC cut in cut out (or turn on an off). If it cause no load on the engine. The freon may be low or the compressor is bad. In this case only the intake side of the evaporator is cooler than the other side.

SOURCE: AC blows cool air on passenger side but warm on driver's

Yes there is both a door and a flapper you have a problem with a blend door motor, it is not switching to cold it is half open and half closed so you need to replace the motor vacuum motor it is under the dash near the heater on the passenger side and if it is the other motor under dash you will have to take part of the dash apart to get to it, to test buy a piece of vacuum hose 1/8 inch diameter about 3 feet long and you can hook it to each of the vacuum motors and **** on the end of the line to see which one is causing you the problem, also could be the control head for the AC inside the car where the controls are, you have to remove the ac cluster ot get to the vacuum switch it's all vacuum operated and if you pull it out you will be able to here an audible sound of air leaking if it's the switch.

SOURCE: 1998 Buick Century Air Conditioner not blowing out cold air

My 98 Buick Century was doing the same thing. Up here is the north we have Canadian Tire. Went in there picked up a aircon recharge kit called RED TEC 12A hole kit costs $40 cnd I put 1 can in on the low pressure side which is the only fitting that the filler would fit on and now I have 33 degree air coming out of the drivers side and a couple degrees colder from passenger side.
I am sure you guys have something like Canadian tire down there you might even try Wallmart.

I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre limited it has a digital and a regular dash heating gauge the digital gauge runs around 220 225 the regular gauge doesn't get past the halfway mark which gauge is accurate

Page 150 onwards of the owner manual covers the heating.

The digital gauge is giving the temperature of the coolant in the block. The normal, standard analogue gauge have the optimum at halfway and overheating is shown as being above that.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/230789/Buick-2000-Lesabre.html?page=163#manual

Page 133 and 134 in this manual show the standard temperature gauge. 160 shows Climate Controls in this one.

2001 Cadillace SLS air conditioning

It sounds like you have "zone" climate control. With "zone" climate control you can adjust the driver, passenger and sometimes other "zones" to different temperatures for the comfort of all passengers. Make sure that the Driver side is set to a cool temperature. If it is then you more than likely have a problem with the temperature controller for the driver side.

check to see if both hoses are hot going to your heater core if they are then core is fine. That would point to your temperature sensor.

Climate control does not blow cool air. When I turn the temp down there is no change in air temp. It blows full hot air. Sometimes I can give the dash a smack with my hand and it will blow cool air, but...

you going to have to tear the dash apart (ac control panel) to see why your switch is not working. The control valve unit works on vacum systems and you need to find out where is leaking or the hoses is old and broke off. If your ac compessor still working and blowing cold air but does not adjust the temperature, it will be in the control valve. Is very easy to fix if you locate the leaks or a bad valves. hope that help some.
