Remote locks the doors but will not unlock doors or trunk Battery

The most common reason for a central locking to re-open on the lock button is the central locking has detected a door or the trunk isn't closed correctly. Open each door and the trunk to check there is nothing in the latch to 'trip' the unlock setting. Close the doors and trunk and retest the remote.
If this doesn't fix the issue have the wiring to the central locking check ed for loose connections or damaged wiring.

Do any of the other buttons on the remote work, like the horn or trunk-open buttons? If they do, then you might have a blown fuse or relay switch for the specific problem. On my Grand Am, there are relays for "Door Lock", "Door Unlock" and "Driver Door Unlock".

The problem is the Door lock actuators and when I went to the dealer they want $467.90 to fix just my driver's side door, but after almost having a heart-attack from the dealer's estimate, I checked on ebay and found a Kit to fix the door lock for only $59 so i ordered one kit (shipping was super fast) it came with very easy instructions on how to install the kit, so I installed about 4-months ago in under 1HR and now everything is Back to normal, I can unlock/Lock using my original OEM key fob and also using the power switch on the door, so everything work as from factory ( no need for aftermarket alarm or remote) ... !!!! here is a link of the kit that I purchased. There is a fuse box under the right rear seat cushion behind the driver. In that box is a 10 amp mini fuse marked "TRUNK DR RELEASE". That is the fuse that powers your remote receiver. If that fuse is good, the receiver may have failed. To remove the seat cushion, pull the front of the cushion up and then forward.

There are 2 security system, namely anti-theft and immobilizer.

DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
Anti-theft system is controlled by Body Control Module (BCM). BCM receives signals from hood switch, trunk switch, door switches and Local Control Modules (LCMs). There are 5 LCMs located throughout vehicle.

To set anti-theft system in armed mode, remove ignition key, close all doors, trunk and hood. Lock doors using key or remote controller. The SECURITY light will illuminate for 30 seconds, then flash in 2.4 second intervals, indicating system is in armed mode.

To cancel armed mode, unlock and open any door or trunk lid using key or remote controller. SECURITY light will flash every second, indicating system is disarmed.

Alarm will activate (horn sounds, headlights flash and starter circuit is disabled) if any of the following conditions occur while system is in armed mode:

Engine hood or trunk lid is opened using the hood or trunk lid release.
Door(s) is unlocked without key or remote controller.
Tampering with any door/trunk lid key cylinders.
To deactivate anti-theft system, unlock door or trunk using key or remote controller.

If it is the immobilizer that is preventing the engine from being started, ensure you have the correct key and the transponder is intact. Quite often keys are dropped and if it breaks open, the internals would scatter all over. When this occurs, there is a tendency for the transponder to be lost.

security module in the trunk ???? There is no security module in the trunk . What light's come on by them self ? Park lamps , headlamps , brake lamps ,turn signals etc.... The module for anti-theft is under the right hand side of the dash . The remote keyless entry module is located in the trunk. Is this the part you hear clicking in ?
Door Lock Control Processor, Electronic NOTE: The electronic door lock control system will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position.
The electronic door lock control processor:

• is located on the LH side of the luggage compartment.
• contains a radio receiver that receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) through electronic door lock control processor antenna, and sends the appropriate command to the power door locks, the horn relay, the indicator flasher, or the anti-theft warning system.
• is equipped with a battery backup which holds the programmed code in memory in the event the vehicle battery is disconnected.
• • Doors Do Not Lock or Unlock Using Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter
  • Circuit.
  • Electronic door lock control processor.
  • Keyless entry remote transmitter.
  • GO to Pinpoint Test B .

the wires in the trunk lid are broken. this model has poorly designed electrical. there is a wire bundle on the right hand side of the trunk lid open the bundle up and resplice the 4 wires. this will correct the doors and remote trunk opener.

can you unlock them with remote if not and you have changed the battery in it the remote has probably lost its programming. if you can the circuit for the unlock is probably bad.

I've had the same problem.. The system locks the front door and you can get in through the passenger side with the key!!!
