We use to own one and had nothing but trouble ,have never owned a Jeep since.
Maybe trading it in is the answer.

SOURCE: need wiring diagram for 1988 jeep comanche 4x4 6

check the solenoid on the starter it powers the ign for starting then switches to run when you let off key, either the solenoid is bad or a wire to the solenoid has come unhooked and sometime they have an in line fuse which can blow.

I take it that it cranks over but will not start. Spray some starter fluid into the throttle body. If it runs, you have a fuel problem. You may have disconnected the fuel system by unplugging a connector or grounding a wire blowing a fuse.

Wont run

sticky choke maybe, try carb cleaner, check the air-cleaner filter, depending on were you live, maybe some dry gas.from the symtom's sounds like it's chocking out, those are the easy cheap thing's first, now check the fuel filter, then the fue pump, prividing your getting good spark to fire up the fuel, good luck

My jeep comanche does not get fuel

Sounds like a fuel pump dude. Can be hard to get to for replacement. May just be a wiring issue which can be tested. Check the fuses. Chev has issues with burned out fuses to the fuel pump.

Check fuel pump for power...Check fuel pump relay in power distribution center (they often have same # relay used in several applications, You can borrow one from a non-essential system and just swap it to do a quick check.) Also, I would change the fuel filter. If plugged, the pump may be shutting down early (and it's a good maintenance item even if it has no effect on problem.)
