91 lexus ls400 "fuel sensor?"

I took my 91 lexus 400 in to the shop because it would start but wouldn't idle without giving it gas and wouldn't break 5 mph, surges every few seconds. The shop said it was the fuel pump and the fuel "sensor" i believe they called it. Anyway, the estimate to replace these was just over a grand. I found a new fuel pump already on ebay for 75 bucks. I'm gonna try to do this one myself, don't have that kind of cash right now. Any help with the sensor issue would help. I can't seem to find one of those.

this is a computer problem. 91-96 lexus ls400 are known for having their computers go out on them. I would have never believed it but my ls400 did the same thing. I sent the computer to Auto Computer Exchange in Davie FL. They reprogramed it for $310 sent it back to me in a day. It fixed the car. I have had no problems out of the car. I now work on ls400 on the side to fix the same problem for other people.

Lexus won't stay running
The crazy part about it my car doin the same thing.Part of problem was I had got some bad gas from a cheap gas station( so watch your gas) I replaced fuel filter and pump (by car shop) and put in jet cleaner also. When I took car out shop it was still doin the same thing. I have changed the throttle position sensor and it seemed like it half-way fixed the problem, but now all it do is stall or cut off when touch gas pedal.
