2002 saturn LS ac clutch not engaging. I've changed fuses , checked the voltage (14.1) anything else I should look for?

Sorry I forgot I did that as well. I bought a can of 134a refrigerant but when I connected the tube to the low pressure valve it shot straight to red (warning level) so I didn't add anything.

Have the refrigerant checked or buy a self-recharge kit. If there is insufficient charge in the system, the clutch will not engage.

SOURCE: ac was working fine the

Check the low switch by the dryer or accumulator, its a long narrow cannister,

it will have a pressure switch attached to it or near it. put your, ac on high,

pull the molex off the switch and jump the molex with a wire or paperclip,

if the compressor comes on and the ac starts to cool, you will just need

to replace the low pressure switch, if the clutch does not come on,

check the low switch molex to see if there is 12vlts there. good luck!

97 chevy suburban AC clutch won't engage pressures

Looks like the low pressure switch gets power from a 10amp ac fuse. Power then goes to the ac relay which is powered on by the ac heat controller on the dash. Power then goes thru the high pressure switch to the compressor. The ac relay is grounded to the body. Do you have power on the lite and dark green wires going into the relay and is it grounded ?

AC clutch only engages intermittently.

on the Ac system is a low pressure switch ,sounds like its faulty so fit a pull or flick switch from ignition supply and run this direct to the pump

What would cause my ac condensor to not engage on my 2002 Axiom?

The condenser is in front of the radiator, the ac clutch is on the compressor.
If the ac clutch does not engage, you would need to check to see if the system is charged with freon and if voltage is getting to the clutch.

Ac clutch not engaging on a 2004 ford escape

A mechanic would check for voltage at the fuse and relay, and also check the system to see if it is full of freon. If the clutch has voltage and ground it may need to be replaced.

I have a 02 lincoln ls . the air conditiong is not working . i took it to a local shop they check the compressor, fuses, relays, pressure swithches, all is checcking out good. They jump the compressor...

YOU COULD HAVE OPEN OR SHORT IN THE BLACK YELLOW WIRE GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH. CHECK FOR A SHORT OR OPEN IN RED YELLOW WIRES AT THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH. USE VOLT METER AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT BOTH SWITCHES. PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE EATC MODULE THAT SEND POWER TO PURPLE WIRE THAT FEEDS THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH AND AC CLUTCH CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH THEN FEEDS THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH SOLENOID.

2002 ford mustang ac will not come on. Problem is intermittent. I have checked the low and high pressure switches and fuses. what else is there to check?

When the ac acts up,test voltage at the ac clutch,if there is voltage(12 volts to 14)then the clutch is the problem, also, try and wiggle the low pressure switch ,to see if it tries to come back on,,,have some one put some ac gauges on the ac system and let the ac run,and watch to see if the low side falls down to 25 psi or lower,if it does, then the orifice tube is stopping up.If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

AC blowinghot air

Locate wires coming from compressor clutch and trace to nearest plug that you can unplug. Turn on A/C to max cooling. If clutch not engaged (center of compressor drive pulley not spinning with pulley), unplug compressor clutch wires and use multimeter to check voltage going to compressor clutch. If voltage is around 12 volts or more, then clutch should be engaged when plugged in. Plug clutch wires back in (with motor still running and ac set to max). If clutch still not engaged, then clutch definitely bad because 12V signal should engage it.

Ac not blowing cold air

either you are out of refrigerant (means there is a leak) or the fuse is blown for the compressor clutch circuit. check your fuse box for any blown fuses first, then if your a/c is R134a get a gauge kit and check the pressure if you can get it to turn on. it should be 25-35psi. if your car is the older R12 system you will have to have it retro-fitted.
