My jeep will not start burn out a fuse put one in and steal will not start what can be wrong

do you know how it really works? most don't
the PCM controls the pump and the ASD relay is related.
all fuses good. in all fuse boxes.
car dont start , is that it, why not say
or starts for 3 seconds and dies, (ASD does that)
why not post the symptoms and ask for real help, not this guessing game.??????

if no bad news. or fuse blow, ask why.?
yes, but the relay drops out. well bingo.
the relay killed the pump power, on PURPOSE by DESIGN.
that is how it works. to stop CRASH and BURN as seen on TV and all movies, (it seems)

so why does the ASD drop out, well that too is easy and is
fully covered in the FSM.

is the IMMO faulting? SKIM?
my wrangler has a stealth IMMO lamp, so the creeps that steal cars
wont know what the red lamp glowing means (no ICON !)

as the battery was wired the wrong way may have blown main fuse this will be a 60 or even 100 amp fuse located in engine bay with the rest of fuses,relays etc,you havent given a year or model so cant be more exact

i have seen the power distribution box connectors for the fuel pump relay and fuse on the underside of box get hot and short out. need to remove box and check. If no signs of melted connector. you will need to locate the short. It will be a short to ground. on the power side. also you will need to check to see how many amps your fuel pump is pulling when pump is running.

check fuses and relays might have popped one when switching battery

did you check the MAIN FUSES near the battery i would susspect one of them.adrian,,,,

the fuse blows because you have a short in any side you have to seek the court because the fuse continues to burn

The guy at the garage today, said he went out and put a fuse in it and it started right up. Thats all he did for now. I going to have a closer look on the weekend. But, as before when I went 1/2 mile it would burn the fuse again. We will have to see if it does again, I espect it will. Any idea?

change the amp. of the fuse it should be higher than the former fuse you use.

jeep been in local garage for 6 weeks !! Was driving along motorway and lost power. Mechanic thought it might be gaskets but now saying its not. Prior to breaking down was burning a lot of oil and a lot of gunge evident at top of where you put the oil. Smoke used to come out of exhaust first thing in morning. Any ideas whats wrong ?

I did not realize this happened so much! I am guessing there is the little amber "Security" light flashing, on the dash? Even if it is not, this is worth a try, it is free! My jeep did this, when the battery got really low, and I jumped it, and one time it did it when I opened the wrong front door first. Put the key in the driver side door and lock and unlock it at least 5 times, and try to start it. My wife left the park lights on in her jeep and it stayed at work for a week before a friend who worked at a dealership told me to try this. They do not often give this info out.
