2005 dodge neon sxt 2.0l , when idling at a red light the ar starts to stutter and when i hit the gas sometimes it doesnt tKe off right away all you hear from the exhaust is like a backfiring sound, i put a new exhaust header in before this happened , no check engine lights on or stored, it only happenes sometimes amd feels like it is going to stall but doesnt bur my main concern is that when i slamm on the gas from a straight stop it sounds like a sputtering or backfiring sounds and then randomly takes off after a couple seconds, any ideas please help thank you

Your problem might be a bad idle control motor. Good luck.

sounds as if you have some bad cooling fan motors.need to make sure the power and ground are being supplied before condemning the fans. dodge vehicles are common for circuit problems for cooling fan control.

sounds to me like you have a vacuum leak. When you lose vacuum the brake booster doesn't operate right. You need to go too a different mechanic. Could be the idle selonoid staying open or even a bad brake booster or vacuum hose came off.

I believe you should just set the idle higher at the throttle body or MAF so it gets enough air and fuel to keep running. Those butterflies have to be cracked open a little to start with so it's getting enough air to run without you having to keep your foot on the throttle pedal.

Problem seems to be the input/output wheel speed sensors.

The red circle means there is an intermittent problem with your vehicle security.If your car starts and runs fine it would be hard to diagnose until it wont start at all.

you could try replacing the idle control valve

try your cam position sensor

It is the Intake Air Control motor (IAC Motor). Replaced mine and have not had any other problems.
