WARNING, DO THIS AND NOT DEFEATING AIR BAGS, is really unsafe. DO not take this lightly.
doing engine primary wiring modifications.?
got in over your head.
did you read all pages here, and see the warnings on doing that?

http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

read about how the Security systems and Immoblizer will get very
upset with modes like this,
on most newer cars, added non factory remote start kits
will cause the factory system to think the car is being stolen.

read up on SKIM.
what is your plan to fool SKIM.

SOURCE: 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Keeps stalling, engine

P0505 means the whole Idle Control system, not only the IAM. Check all related sensors (i.e. crankshaft sensor). Check with a voltmeter direct at the connector of the IAM if you get any signal. Remove the IAM from the TB, connect him, let someone switch your ignition key to ON. The IAM need to drive in/out for a short time to find the right position. Hold the IAM near a hard part, that they cant drive out completely! If IAM works fine, check the fuel pressure, check and clean your TB ( if not done yet). If that doesn't work, come back again please

Masters switch no windows for locks work on a 2004 Jeep grand Cherokee.

a common item on this vehicle is one or more wires breaking in the wire harness, look at the door wire harness that goes between the door itself and the body. strip the covering off the harness and check the individual wires for breakage or corrosion. If there is room and not too many broken you can have them repaired, otherwise on some models yuo can buy the section of wire harness from the door to the body and just replace the assembly.

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8. A couple days ago after stoping to get gas I started it up and the interior lights came on and power windows would no longer work. Later I noticed the remote...

I had the same problem recently. The dealership diagnosed the pblm as a corroded wire in the door frame that is responsible for all power windows and power locks locks. A simple rewiring and resoldering (approx. 150 CAD$) fixed the problem.

Grand Cherokee oxygen sensor locations for 4.0 and 4.7 engines

Four wires (circuits) are used on each O2 sensor:

  • 12–volt feed circuit for the sensor heating element
  • Ground circuit for the heater element
  • Low-noise sensor return circuit to the PCM
  • Input circuit from the sensor back to the PCM to detect sensor operation

O2S Sensor removal Never apply any type of grease to the oxygen sensor electrical connector, or attempt any soldering of the sensor wiring harness.
WARNING: THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, EXHAUST PIPES AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER(S) BECOME VERY HOT DURING ENGINE OPERATION. ALLOW ENGINE TO COOL BEFORE REMOVING OXYGEN SENSOR.
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect O2S pigtail harness from main wiring harness.
3. If equipped, disconnect sensor wire harness mounting clips from engine or body.
CAUTION: When disconnecting sensor electrical connector, do not pull directly on wire going into sensor.
4. Remove O2S sensor with an oxygen sensor removal and installation tool.

02S Sensor installation
Threads of new oxygen sensors are factory coated with anti-seize compound to aid in removal. DO NOT add any additional anti-seize compound to threads of a new oxygen sensor.
1. Install O2S sensor. Tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N·m) torque.
2. Connect O2S sensor wire connector to main wiring harness.
3. If equipped, connect sensor wire harness mounting clips to engine or body. When Equipped: The O2S pigtail harness must be clipped and/or bolted back to their original positions on engine or body to prevent mechanical damage to wiring.

Hope thats help (remember comment and rated this).

Where do i hook a trailer wireing harness up on a 04 grand cherokee

Hi John,

I'm not sure about the 2004, but my 86 Cherokee has a wire bundle beneath the rear bumper. A test light and yelling to a friend in the drivers seat made wire identification pretty easy. (I don't get up that easy any more from a prone position ;0)

AND this will help with the actual hookups.

Click here for a cheat sheet I wrote when I finally got tired of looking up wire colors.

Best regards
Mike

Adding a radio w/ remote changer to a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

in most cases the wiring is already there, it is cheaper for the manufacturer to use one harness than many different ones, I know this is true on GM and Ford, should be the same with Chrysler products as well.
