Autozone stocks EGRs with lifetime warranty for 39.99. Just replaced mines on my 2005 ram 1500 quad with 5.7ltr Hemi. Also remove Pipe and clean out due to blockage. Also removed PCV Valve and replaced also.

I just took mine to the auto part store to find out. From what they told me its the little box on top of the Hemi Engine cover. They said I have to go to the dealer to get the part though.

Dodge/Chrysler EGR valves are known to be unreliable. The one on my wife's 05 Grand Caravan died in the 40k miles range.

They are not really serviceable. The usual fix is replacement. Part will be between $50 and $150 depending on where you get it. Installation most of the time is 2-4 bolts and the harness.

SOURCE: egr valve location on dodge ram 2005 4.7

The EGR, or exhaust gas recirculation valve, takes inert exhaust gasses drawn from the exhaust system and reintroduces them into the combustion chamber through the intake manifold. This process lowers the peak combustion temperature and helps combat the formation of Nitrous Oxide (NOx) in the exhaust.

f0255cf.jpg

  1. Separate the intake ducts from the air cleaner assembly by loosening the retaining clamps and pulling the ducts away from the housing.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum line from the air cleaner assembly.
  3. Remove the wing nut that secures the air cleaner housing lid to the base.
  4. Remove both the air cleaner hosing lid and base.
  5. Locate the EGR valve. Look at the front of intake manifold. The EGR valve will be bolted to the intake manifold just in front of the carburetor.
I hope help you with this. Good luck.

What is the fix for (egr flow sensor a) on 2007 dodge hemi? This code came up when light came on.

It is probably the EGR valve itself. I would remove the valve and check the lines coming off of it to make sure it is not clogged. If that checks out ok then I would replace the EGR Valve and then clear the code with a scan tool.

05 ram with hemi code p0406

Most of the times it is the EGR sensor that has gone bad. It is located in the back right side by the throttle body. You will see a hose that runs from the top of your EGR to the sensor. On your Dodge it is VERY eay to replace.
