It sounds to me like your compressor got killed. What probably happened is that the airbag got a hole or tiny crack in it so the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag killed the compressor. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. I added the link below so you can check it out.

Air suspension compressor sounds bad and wont pump up the rear on a 2003 mercury grand marquis

What is odd is the compressor stopping after so short a time. It may be your only problem.

When you have a leak in the system, the compressor keeps running because the sensors do not signal for it to shut off. On your vehicle it is either being told to shut off prematurely or the compressor is triggering a circuit breaker.

There are ride height sensors on the rear. If the vehicle was lifted without turning off the Air ride, the sensors may have been stretched.

You can check for air leaks in the suspension bags, and air lines using a spray bottle of soapy water. There is also a Master dump valve that should be ahead of the Drivers front tire/radiator well area. It is not a concern unless there is no pressure in the system.

Finally, just as the engine can express diagnostic Codes, so can the suspension. You need a better scanner to do this function. It is the quickest way to find the problem.

Air suspension light staying on

Hi,
You have a problem with one of the following: 1. The wiring circuit for the air suspension warning system has a fault. 2. Your air suspension air pressure is not being maintained so you may have a fault there.
Have a diagnostic check done and this will pin point the problem.
Hope this helped.

2000 grand marquis-dash light came on for air ride suspension-replaced fuse what else could be the problem

If you blew a fuse there is a problem. There is a diagnostic plug to scan the air suspension. If you can find an Autozone or Oreillys with the proper tester they will scan it free. Otherwise it is a Dealer that will have the proper scan tools.

Air suspension on my grand marquis comes on with engine off

What is probably going on is the air suspension has a leak so the compressor is breaking down. So it will run at odd times trying to make up for the times it can not run. What you need to do is look for a conversion kit. The conversion will stop all problems that you are having now and you will never have to worry about it again. I would recommend strutmasters.com. They have great prices and there kits are guaranteed to last the life of the car. I posted the link below so you can take a look.
