Check for torn/ mud flap behind the wheel. Check that the plastic splash panel under the front of the car is not broken and hanging down and flaps with speed from the air passing under the car.

Front end vibration at 40 mph and rubbing sound

Vibration at 40 mph hard to diagonisis without looking at front end. Could be wheels need balancing, new wheels and rims. Loose or worn suspension items.
Bring vehicle into a tire and alignment shop. Most Sears auto center have them.
With regards to rubbing noise again hard to diagonisis without looking at the affected tire, probably a splash shield hitting the tire in reverse.
Alignment shop will find the problem.

Grinding, rattling noice coming from the right front. Brake pads are good.

Probably the splash shield hitting the rotor. First visually inspect the rotors for scratches and grooves front and back while the entire vehicle has been lifted off the ground and front tires removed. I fyou can't find any thing put vehicle in gear with parking brakes applied(remember your noise if comming from front of car)and listed for the grinding. Seperate the splash shield from rotor with a dull flat screw driver.
