Truck ran fine this am. Parked for approx 1 hr. Went out to crank. The Engine started just like normal - except this time, it only ran for about 3 seconds then died. I turned off switch and started again. Same thing. After 4 or 5 tries it now will not start. It just starts to crank for a couple seconds and - nothing. FYI> I just refueled last knight after my tank was litterally on empty (9 miles to empty). This morning I drove to Athens (approx 40 miles round trip). And then see above at beginning of explanation. Sounds to me like a fuel line blocked (maybe by dirty gas).. What d'ya think?

SOURCE: will not start

potential water in line. Red, plastic bottle of Gas treatment first. STP gas treatment highly rec. Definitely make sure you do not have any more gas leaks since the system relies on pressure. Any loss in pressure results in loss of fuel to injectors/carb. Start with the gas treatment first... go from there. Sounds retarded but believe me, this has helped countless people... including myself multiple times.

Afterwards, you will need to think on terms of electrical ignition problems:

HV coil

HV coil wire

clogged filter or reversed direction filter [recheck even though it is new]

SOURCE: 1989 Toyota Camry will turn over but won't start.

Similar problem for my 89 camry. It ended up being my in tank fuel pump that had died.

SOURCE: 1994 Camry won't start. Have replaced the fuel

Sounds like a relay or sensor. It could be the Crank Shaft Position Sensor which is usually the culprit.
Do you have any check engine lights on? If so, then I would have codes read right away to determine exact problem location

SOURCE: ran out of gas,put 2 gals in tank got it started

the debris from the bottom off the tank may have clogged the fuel filter and or the injectors. theres no fuel getting into the engine, change fuel filter, thats about $25.00. if problems persists try an injector cleaner.

Truck will start but engine dies and service engine soon light comes on/truck was idleing fine for 10 minutes then began to hesitate then shut off when first happened

When the engine dies the Check eng light is supposed to come on. You need to do a fault code test on the OBD2 engine control module.

Broken timing belt damage engine 93

You mean it will crank but not start ? Do you have normal compression, spark and fuel pressure ?
If the timing belt broke you won't have compression on all cylinders.

Cranks but wont start

Try to have codes pulled to see if any codes relate to the starting issue.

Won t start

run the fault codes and look for faulty cam/ crank position sensor as this is indicated by the backfire/hard start and lower idle RPM. Check that battery terminals are clean and tight..

I have a 1996 F350 7.3l deisel crewcab that ran fine. I parked it and then a week later I went to start it and it only just turned over with no starting

If the vehicle doesnt start you will need to know what the ICP shows(this has a high failure rate) Disconnect the ICP this will default the PCM to failure mode management, this is a alternate strategy the location of this sensor front of the engine threaded in the left cylinder head by the way dont use either use WD40 or any similar lubricant.Make sure the fuel pump is working its under the vehicle right below the driver seat area have someone crank it and feel for it coming on

My 99 Taurus acts like the battery is dead it will crank the engine over a couple times slowly then nothing I've had the battery tested and it was good same with the starter it won't jump start...

If the battery and starter have proven good, then you probably have a connection issue.Check condition of battery, wire to battery, and starter wires and connections also. I dont know your particular situation, but there is always the possibility of a motor trying to sieze.
