The car runs GREAT with 74000 orig miles. Iwas driving and everything was great, stopped at store came out to start car and NO GO! Had it towed home and didn't touch it til next day and went out and it started right up and ran PERFECT. Later same day it started and was running rough. Today it won't start again, it tries but won't fire. I have checked the timing belt and it looks good and cams are turning. It's also getting fuel and can hear fuel pump when key is turned on. Volts are good @ 12.8 standing. I am wondering if it may be the cam sensor or crankshaft sensor or mass air flow sensor? Please help....... Thanks in advance!

Jeff: Go to "Allpar dot com" website and look for a complete list of codes for the older Chryslers. From mine I remember code 34 as having at least two posible meanings: a) EGR Solenoid circuit problema, and b) Speed control problema. Code 21 means a problema in the Oxygen sensor. Amclaussen.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus 2.4L DOHC Engine. The

actually there is a magnet. Its right behind the cam sensor. Had to replace it myself. just make sure you get the sensor from the dealer as well. You wont find the magnet anywhere but the dealer so you mine as well buy both at once.

I have a 1997 dodge stratus es with the 2.5 v6 and my check engine light came on. i checked the codes and came up with codes 12, 32 and 17. What are these codes

Code 12 = Number of Key-Ons since last Fault (code) or since Fault(s) were erased.
Code 32 = a) EGR Solenoid Circuit or b)EGR System Failure. For a): An Open or Shorted Condtion has been detected in the EGR Solenoid Circuit. This is usually for some California Vehicles.
For b): Required Air/Fuel Ratio was not detected during Diagnostic Test. Again for some California Vehicles.
In either case: Replace the EGR
Code 17 = Engine Runs Cold for too long. Engine Coolant Temperature remains Below Normal Operating Temp's during Vehicle travel. This is a Thermostat problem. Replace it.

I received the following trouble codes on my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9 liter engine: 12, 31, 56 I assuime 12 is a toss away... I don't understand the description for 31 and I cannot locate 56 in my...

code 31 is the evap system, the fumes from the tank, the computer can seal or vent the vapors, and so its telling you theres a big leak its not able to seal, could be a loose or bad gas cap or a broken vacuum line for the system or a vent or purge valve went bad, code 56 is not a code, double check . good luck, hope this is helpful.

2001 Dodge Stratus SE MIL light on problem

sometimes you cant trust those dummy lights, i would keep driving it or have your car parked and turned off and turn you key on to aux. and turn off and the turn on aux again, and the ck engine light will blink count the blinks and spaces and the car will give you a code and if there is something wrong, then the code is were you want to start, look on line for the code or get a 2001 dodge stratus manual that will tell you as well and then go from there

98 Dodge Stratus won't start

Best place to start is with "check engine light". Put vehicle in park, foot on brake, and cycle key on, off, on, off, on, then wait with pen & paper ready to read flashes of check engine lamp. Will be a 2 digit code each time. For example, flash, short pause & flash, will be 11, or flash, flash, short pause, flash, flash would be 22. In between trouble codes you'll get a little longer pause, then it will start to flash again if more than one code, which is quite possible. Also note that I say key to on, not start, just on.(normal run position) Then get back to us and we'll be able to better help you.
