Stock 1995 Jeep Wrangler stereo wiring harness missing/cut off.

Stock 1995 Jeep Wrangler stereo wiring harness has been cut. Don't know which wire is for what. I have already purchased 3 diagrams from other sites and not one of them had the same wire colors that my 95' jeep stereo wires have. Closest one had 3 of the 12 wires correct.

I have a 95 gmc sierra 2500 and im trying to put in my aftermarket rafio so i cut the stock harness out the square puece that goes in back of stock radio and now i cant figure out what wire is what i got...

I would suggest you spice the wires back to stock harness by male and female connections and tape over them with black tape then get a stereo install kit that includes a wiring harness ( cost about $20 maybe or less) for the year of truck you have... it will plug right to your stock harness ...never just cut stock stereo wires from stock plug it will be more of a headache than you think trust me I've installed all my own stereo system been there done that... good luck

Color codes for stereo

They make kits just for this. Just plugs into the existing harness and then you run you wires to the wires from that harness, some may even have matching plugs that go directly to the Head units wire harness plug. I did My Mustang by cutting into the wire Harness and simply used a multimeter to check for battery, memory 12 volts and running light or dash board Illumination wires then you can test the wires coming out from the stock radio to see which are right, left , front, rear, antenna out, etc..

I just labeled them with magic marker on some masking tape with what they were before I cut off the harness permanently.

What does Park and dimmer mean for a jeep wragler car stereo?

If you are putting in a new stereo with all the pretty blinky lights, you will probably not use those wires. They are part of your interior lighting system (backlight for original radio.)

The white wire is the Park/marker Lamp Relay output signal. The Orange wire is the dimmer control signal (AKA "Illumination Control"). These both come from your Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) module.

Okay, a while back my stock stereo was stolen from my car, i went and bought a new one and as i went to try to install it i noticed some wires that look like they had been cut i didnt know how to hot wire...

was the black plg the antennae? As far as the wires..... power cord on aftermarket radios are almost ALWAYS red, the ground wire is ALWAYS black. Once those are connected, then you can trial and error the other wires to see which wires go to which speaker (while playing a song on the radio / cd, the wire will tell you which speaker it leads to when - all of a sudden - IT WORKS. Hope this helps. Remember, each speaker has a (+) wire and a (-) wire. If you end up with extra wires after everything works, then.... not sure what you have. (Sorry)

My Jeep stereo is missing the adatpar with the wires within the car being loose.. I have no stereo due to the fact i need to know how to fix it.. I dont know what wires go where i have the stock stereo but...

there is two connectors that plug into the stock radio, one is white and one is black,if someone has cut yours off,the best thing you could do is visit a local salvage yard and tell them you need the two radio connectors ,tell them when they cut them out to leave you about four inches of wire from each connector.
then take them home and your color codes are all there and the same.

I have a 1994 V-6 engine with all the wiring intact, has 2 wiring harnesses going through firewall, I want to splice that 1994 wiring into the existing 1989 interior wiring for the ignition and basics,...

That's gonna take a good test light and some serious patience. First thing you gotta do is FORGET trying to match the colors, ain't gonna happen. Find out which wire is hooked to what and splice it to the stock wire that does the same job. I'd use **** connectors, just don't cut the wire off of the '94 harness at the plug. Give yourself a few inches in case you ever want to do another engine swap. It's a lot easier to sell an engine if you can re-attach the stock harness for the new owner. Capiche? Good luck, let me know how it comes out at [email protected]. Bart
