Horn is not functioning on my 2006 Ford Taurus. I have checked the fuses listed in the owners manual. I however can't seem to locate the Horn Relay. I found a secondary relay box stuck between the battery and the driver side head lamp. It has 3 out of 5 relay slots filled and the 2 spots with out relay look like they match the autozone horn relay for my vehicle. I just don't know why there isn't on here and if it does go there which spot should it be? Does anyone have a diagram for this secondary relay box?

Is the air bag light lit on the instrument cluster ? The horn relay isn't under the hood in the engine compartment , it's in the SJB - smart junction box located inside the passager compartment . Under the dash panel left side . You can take the relay back to autozone because it's not the right one ! The relay is inside the smart junction box ,soldered to the printed circuit board !
Horn Horn
The vehicle is equipped with dual horns. The horns are mounted in the LF frame rail corner behind the front bumper.
The horn system consists of the following components:

  • steering wheel horn switches
  • clockspring
  • horns
  • smart junction box (SJB)
Horn Switch, Steering Wheel Mounted
The horn switches are incorporated within the driver side air bag module in the steering wheel. The switches are grounded and control the horns through the clockspring. For removal and installation of the driver side air bag module, refer to Section 501-20B .

SOURCE: Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus

The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.

What is the exact Horn fuse relay for a 2005 Ford Focus?

The circle shows the horn relay. There are a couple of places where you can look at your owners manual online for free. I checked fleet.ford.com first, for some reason didn't show your owners manual? Another site, fordparts.com click on the pro center then free resources, click on owners info, just follow the links, it's there.

My horn on my 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara isn't working. The fuse is good. What else could it be?

Hi Peggy, if the fuse is o.k. then the next step would be to make sure the relay is functioning, it's location should be in the owners manual, you can test it by swapping it with another relay the same. If the relay is working o.k. i would then check the horn itself.

I need to replace the horn fuse in my 1997 mercury mountaineer

In your owners manual go to the index and look for fuses then go to that page. Look for the horn fuse which should be in the fuse box under your hood around your engine, in your owners manual is should tell you where it's located. Find the fuse for it by looking at the diagram on your owners manual and then pull that fuse out. You should have replacement fuses in the fuse box that's in your car, you have to open the car door to get to it. If you don't have that fuse just take it up to auto zone and tell them you need a replacement for that fuse.

2001 f-150 ford pick up truck . horn will not work

Did you check the fuse for the horn ? Engine compartment fuse panel, fuse #7, 20A

You can pull the horn relay, and jumper the normally open contacts to see if the fuse, horn and grounds for the horn are in working order ( this operates the horn without needing to use the horn button ).
The Horn relay is a half size Ford ISO relay in the engine compartment fuse panel ( check your owners manual to locate relay 206 ).

Diagram to jumper the horn relay, with this in place, the horn should sound as long as the jumper is in place

If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :

Horn on 2006 taurus stop working yesterday - fuse is OK - what else could it be?

Check the connection at the horn. It could be dirty, lose or corroded. There may be a relay for it somewhere.
I don't where the horn is located, usually up front around the grill.
If you are handy, try unplugging the horn and run a jumper wire from the battery to the horn and see if it honks. I don't know if your horn grounds by the mount or of you need to run a pos and neg to it.
