Hooked it up to our working pop up trailer and the brake lights do not work. The blinkers work intermittenently. The kia works with other trailers and the pop up camping trailer works with other cars.

Apparently this is a recall matter and will be fixed at no charge. KIA Consumer Assistance Center 1-800-333-4542. Recall notices were to go out in May/June 2009.

My additional brake light is not working i have tested the brake unit and that works is there a seperate fuse for this or is it all on one fuse for all the brake lights

The third or High Mounted Brake Light runs straight off the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. You say you tested the "brake unit"? I assume you mean the third brake light assembly, and if you get power there when someone steps on the brake pedal, then the bulbs are bad.

The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, no one ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch, hope this helps!

Rear brake lights wont work fuse good new bulbs?

There's a brake light switch mounted near the shaft that your brake pedal is mounted to. It's a plunger switch, and it should be easy to find. Press it in manually and your brake lights should come on (if not, the switch needs to be replaced). If the lights come on when you press the switch, press it a few times and/or lube it with a shot of WD40 or a similar product, and chances are that it will start working again. If not, the switch is inexpensive and easy to replace, and you can find the right one for your vehicle at just about any parts store.

My brake light won't turn on when I breaks but they turn on when the lights for the care r on. How come and how can I make the lights work?

The parking lights and break lights are different. You need to look at the bulbs, (Does it have a third brake light in the rear window that works?) look at fuses, and also you have a brake light switch located on the upper side of the brake pedal arm.
