When you turn on the radio, it will say "codE" on the display. You have the 4-digit code number for your radio, to enter the first digit, press the "1" button on the radio the number of times until the first digit matches. For example, if your code is "2156" then, press radio preset button 1 two 2 times, then press radio preset button 2 one time, then radio preset button 3 five 5 times and finally preset button 4 six times.
THEN if the display is correct (should show 2156 in this example), press TAPE button. You should hear a beep and the radio should be working. If you make a mistake and enter a wrong code, the display will show "Err". You have 3 tries to get this correct or the radio may be toast. These are the steps for the stock radio in my 1995 GSX and they've worked for me each time I've lost battery power. Good luck!

Replaced factory radio and then put factory back in. Screen read locked, Removed chip and now states call truck will not start. New alternator and battery. Whats up?

the radio once it is removed from a power source will automatically go into theft mode and will not power back on until the code is reinstalled
that has nothing to do with the chip
If you have interfered with the chip in the ECM then you will need to reset the CPU program in the ECM using a scan tool
what you have stated indicates that you need a workshop manual to read what not to do with a vehicle

I changed h2 and catylic converter,in line filter, muffler, mass air flow censor, and battery still no power could it be fuel pump regulater? fuel pump still pumping

That would have been an expensive exercise. Try resetting the engine management electronics. Disconnect the cars battery completely with your headlights on. Leave the battery disconnected for at least 30 minutes. Leaving the headlights in the on position will kill any residual power left in the car. Obviously, the clock, the radio etc will also lose their settings. make sure you have the Radio pin code BEFORE you disconnect the battery as you will need it to restart the radio. reconnect the battery and try the car again. Resetting the electronics will put it back to factory setting. Hopefully , this will cure your problems. Ive done it a few times on my Ford and its worked fine. If not sure, try looking online for "resetting Ford ECM" there are many videos and info showing this and how to do it.

Camry 1994 sec radio reads HELP, need code to reset so we can listen to radio

Here's a sheet that has your code.

And here's how to put it in.

I've scanned the code sheet as two .jpgs so everyone with an older Toyota can save, share, upload, copy, paste and generally spread this helpful info around. One dealership actually wanted $45 just to put these in for me, but another, awesomer one just made me a copy of the sheet for nothing so I'm just paying their good deed forward.

The battery died on my 2001 eclipse, now the radio only says ''off''?

This is the anti-theft device on your factory radio. When the battery died, the radio thought it had been removed from your car and went into anti-theft mode. When you turned the car back on, the radio should have read "CODE" on the display, at which point you need to enter the factory anti-theft code. After 3 failed attempts at entering the code, it will simply read "OFF" and the radio is locked.

At this point:
- find your factory anti-theft code - it should be in your owner's manual, or you can contact a dealer to retrieve it
- turn the key to the ACC position (radio and accessories on, but engine is off)
- turn on the radio so the display reads "OFF"
- let the car sit for 1 hour
- radio will turn off automatically and reset
- turn the radio on again, and it should read "CODE"
- enter the factory anti-theft code

Make sure you have the code before starting the procedure. To enter the code, use the radio preset buttons. For example, if your code is "4321", hit Preset #1 button four times, Preset #2 three times, Preset #3 two times, and Preset #4 one time. Then hit the "Tape" or "CD" button. Radio should now be unlocked.

Radio code ( 98 Volvo S70)

Look in the manual for the code - usually someone has written it in there. If not, call the nearest Volvo dealership and give them the VIN - they can tell you what your code is. Then, with the engine off, turn the key to the "I" position (Roman numeral one) and leave it for at least 4 hours. The radio should then read "Code. and you can enter the 4 digit number! Good Luck!
