Engine compartment fuse box is located along left (drivers side) fender near fire wall.

Your ranger doesn't have a ICM - ignition control module . PCM - engine computer controls spark .

The ignition module and coil are made together.

Check for a Thick Film Integrated (TFI) Module attached to the outside of the distrfibutor with about an 8 wire plug on it. That is Ford's ignition module. My recollection is the two screws attaching it to the distributor are odd-ball 7/32 in. size. If the module is taken off, use special ford di-electric grease on the base before re-attaching. For heat dissipation.

I recommened only the factory part for this. You can buy it from most full service part stores and not just the Ford dealer. The part is

You can also mail order it from a site I use called rockauto.com the price given above is from that site.

For 1993 Ford Truck Ranger 4WD 3.0L MFI 6cyl the Control Module-Ignition is located under hood, center, rear engine area, mounted on distributor.

on a ford is usually located on the side of the distributor or inside of it.i always find it on the outside of the distributor with a big electrical plug connected 2 it. hope this info helps. take care and good luck, manny

96 ranger likely doesn't have one. The "module" that used to be found in carburated vehicles with Distributors and Rotors has been eliminated by fuel injection , electronic ignition , and computers.
I MIGHT BE WRONG ABOUT THIS , maybe someone will come up with a better answer. In any case you might have to give more info about what the engine is doing ( or not doing ) .

tragik nc: In looking this car up in both the 4 and 6 cyl configurations, Ford said that the ignition control module is no longer a separate component. It is actually integrated into the PCM (power control module)
This is located in the right rear corner of the engine compartment behind the power steering reservoir.
