SOURCE: 2005 ToyotaCamry fault code P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor Malfuction

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .

SOURCE: 83 vw rabbit gti clanking/knocking sound

That doesnt sound good. Check the engine oil level and top up as necessary. If the noise is still there, then you should take it to a mechanic to check. It could mean that you need to either replace the engine or overhaul it. Hope that helps

SOURCE: Where do you check oil

You don't. There are special tools and procedures. You'll have to take it to the dealer, I'm afraid. Hope this helps.

Golf Gti Mk5 DSG on normal driving will fall into Neutral, or not find a gear for some times secs/mins - codes say electrical issues. What electrical elements do I need to check or could cause?

the electrical issues could be
wiring and connections
transmission control module
torque converter servo/solenoid problem
IT will be a electronic fault and if you have the codes then maybe we could get close to the servo/ solenoid that is the problem

I just did an oil change on my 2007 vw gti and the service now light is still on. I am wondering how to reset it.

It is not possible to have that reset or turned off "Service Due!" without using a diagnostic scantool connected to the data link connector of the car. This is the only one way to reset service due light on 2007 VW Golf GTI.

hi,

Exactly same prob.

99% of the time we mechanics tend to trust computer of what it tells us when it come to engine diagnostic; i hate to not agree with VW mech which he pull the code and state is knock sensor although I have ran into computer spit out many wrong code and still does not fix the problem however I go ahead and replace it any way. Now if that does not fix the issue after replacing with new parts, I then would go back and plug computer back in to see what other code it would spit out. my opinion, I would also have your air-mass flow sensor check, some people don't realized throttle control/airmass flow sensor also link into the ECU compute between the revolution sensor of the transmission telling computer is time to shift. faulty air-mass sensor can also cause it to bogs or not picking up speed giving a false sense the transmission is not working correctly. you can go to auto zone and use their computer for free if you need to re-pull the code after replacing the knock sensor.
