Sounds like you have a sensor wire crossed or out of connection. Touching the brake makes the brake light come on and is doing a re-connect. Check that out, it's gotta be in the electrical system as you can now understand. Something is crossfeeding and/or backfeeding power to where it shouldn't.

You could have a vacuum leak. Look for loose or broken vacuum lines. I would start at the brake booster.

check the switch on the parking brake, sounds like it out of alignment, it should be doing the exact opposite. not allowing the trans to engage when brake is ON .
it may have a three leg micro switch (NO-NC) and its just hooked up wrong also. SHOULD BE LOCATED on the brake handle assembly

Most likely the master cylinder is bad...be sure to bench bleed prior to installing...Hope this helps.

See an old fixya regarding an 814 slew problem. A reader offered this guy a diagram, dated Oct 25th, 2013. Don't know if you can back track?

the rears are much like the fronts except you have to teist the caliper piston when pushing it in you can use needle nose pliers but the easy way is buy a small cheap tool (Looks much like a hollow cube out an inch square that fits on any 3/8 ratchet extension, then you push an twist as you go find it in any parts house

watch and be sure the rubber dust shield slibes as you turn, I usualy have to take a small screwdriver and make sure it's not stuck so the piston will turn freely

When you're all reassemnled and ready to go YOU MUST BLEED THE BRAKES

You do NOT open th e bleeders, what you do is crank the engine and press the brake pedal HALFWAY TO THE FLOOR dot this until you have a hrd pedal
DO NOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR if you do you'll set off the emergency system that prevents you from losing all brakes if a hose blows, you then shut off two brakes one rear and one front kitty corner that is say the left front and the right rear (So you don't slew sideways)

Just halfway press until you get a pedal, THEN PRESS ONE TIME VERY HARD you may get a thump, and then you're ready to drive away
