All brake lights went out on 2004 Chevy Tahoe

All of the brake lights went out on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe. I tried replacing the 15a Vehicle Stop fuse on the drivers side of the dash as well as the 25a Brake Lamp fuse under the hood. Neither one fixed the problem, which didn't surprise me too much as neither fuse appeared to be burnt out. Anyone got any suggestions?

By 4 way flasher switch, do you mean the hazard lights? And these switches have something to do with the brake lights?

Is it odd that all of the other lights, hazards, signals, headlights, back up lights, etc. work perfectly?

The most common cause of this is either a sticking 4 way flasher switch or the turn signal switch itself.

yes the hazard lights AKA 4 ways

these other lights circuits don't run through the turn signal switch, the brake lights do, The information is correct. I am assuming you checked for power to the switch connector on the steering column when the brake pedal is depressed

Brake lights and cruise control stopped working on 2004 chevy tahoe

I suggest to check your tail lights. sometimes if they go out, the cruise control will not work. Oh and also, what i did when this happened to me, I checked under the brake pedal and pushed and pulled the little button that activates the taillights and it worked again. It may have gotten stuck..
The brake light fuse may have popped..

ALSO: -- There seems to be a recall for this..
CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS MAY EXPERIENCE THE PERMANENT LOSS OF BRAKE LAMP FUNCTION OR BRAKE LAMPS THAT ARE ILLUMINATED AT ALL TIMES. THE CENTER HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LAMP (CHMSL) IS AFFECTED IN BOTH INSTANCES. ALSO, IF EQUIPPED, THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL BECOME INOPERATIVE. ANY TRAILER BRAKE LAMPS WHICH ARE CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE LAMP WIRING WILL MIMIC THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE LAMPS WHEN EITHER CONDITION OCCURS.

The stability system disabled light came on in my 2004 chevy tahoe, what is that for?

Your vehicle is equipped with vehicle stability control, what the system does is prevent the car from going out of control due to a skid, it does this by applying the brakes at each wheel very quickly to straighten the car out in the event of a skid like on ice or a wet road, the system is part of the ABS (Anti-lock brake system), when the light comes on and stays on it means that something has failed in the system and the computer that controls it has disabled the system
